Direct Prints - preparation of files
This service belongs to the customers preparing themselves their files and using our professional web printing platform Picto Online: http://online.picto.fr
Our technicians do not intervene on your files.
Your files must contain all the overlaps or necessary material additions for their final use. Our application only takes care of the management of simple overlap for mounting (no Diasec, no stretcher frames with keys, and no making of hems or wrapping).
We recommend you to prepare your files according to the requested final format following the indications and the recommendations below.
Necessary preparation for print and printing services
Type of files accepted according to the service:
Files' dimensions:
If you want precise margins or overlaps, you must directly include them in the file you send us.
For the files meant for large format inkjet services (HP Latex or Arizona UV), please read the section Specific information for large formats.
Resolution and sizes of files:
The limited size for each uploaded file or for the whole order is 1.5 Gb.
We recommend you to prepare your files following the exact dimensions you want for the prints and to adapt them to the resolution of the imaging device/printer you want.
Advice:
If your image doesn't include text and it isn't meant for being watched very closely, rely on the optimum size to the M².
Otherwise, use the nominal size to the M².

Resolution and recommended size of file:
Color space:
RGB, CMYK, Grayscale (no Lab, no indexed colors).
We recommend you to use, in preview or conversion, the ICC profiles of our imaging devices/printers in order to handle better the renderings of your images.
Don't forget to keep the profile of your working space in your file.
Your file will be automatically converted from this space to the profile of the chosen media in perceptive mode.
Downloads and information about the ICC profiles Encoding of files:
The files can be recorded in 8 bits or 16 bits per primary color. Data compression:
For Jpeg: we recommend you to use a 'maximum quality' Jpeg compression.
We accept the compressed Tif LZW. Names of files:
We accept the names of files that stretch to 255 characters.
However we recommend you not to exploit this functionality for it can provoke rereading mistakes detrimental to the handling of your order.
The files must be without any special characters (*, $, /, #, @, %, etc…).
Only the characters with accents and dashes '-'are allowed.
The extensions are compulsory (.jpg, .jpeg, .tif, .tiff). Specific information for large formats
The specificity of the large format printing resides in its diversity of finishes and picture hanging or laying options.
In order to understand each other well it is important to use the same jargon.
Reminder of the vocabulary used:

Prepare your file on the format that includes the technical margins, knowing that the grommets are fixed on a 30mm strip around the banner.
Do not write down any positioning indications, we automatically manage them in the finishes:
With step distances of: 10cm, 20 cm, 30 cm.
The reinforced strip option consists in joining at the back of the 30mm (around the image) a banner strip before the fixing of grommets. Because it offers a much better ripping resistance, it is essential for the outdoor display.
Top and bottom wrapping finish :
Prepare your file on the format that includes the technical margins. The measure X of bleed to be added at the top and at the bottom of your visible format is 7.5 cm.
It corresponds to the wrapping 5.5cm (Y) opening that can take a bar or a tube of 2.5cm diameter.
Banner snap rail finish:

Prepare your file on the format that includes the technical margins. The measure X of bleed to be added at the top and at the bottom of your visible format is 1cm.
Never forget to anticipate an overlap for your images in addition to the format of the files. Flexible media:

Reminder of the vocabulary used:
- Visible format:
Visible format of the image fixed on its structure. - Format including technical margins:
Format that includes all the overlaps and material laying necessary to the finishing and/or the mounting.

Prepare your file on the format that includes the technical margins, knowing that the grommets are fixed on a 30mm strip around the banner.

Never forget to anticipate an overlap for your images in addition to the format of the files. Flexible media:
- Supports souples :
The format must match the format on which we will cut the media before the finishing. Therefore the format must include all the material layings and the necessary information (cut lines, marks…) for the finishing you want. - Rigid media:
File format= media format (the application automatically manages the 3mm overlap around the image is by enlargement, do not put anything near or inside this area)
