Our interface enables you to order directly the finish associated to your direct print or printing
If you order the finishing and your prints/printings simultaneously via our online order interface, you gain 20% off on all our rates for the associated finishes, with a calculation in continuous surface instead of the traditional incremental billing of usual formats.
Note :
You can control your print or printing before its finishing by ticking the box ‘control before the finishing’ in the delivery screen (step 4).
In this case, you receive an email when your print is done and you can come to control your print at the concerned Picto branch before it is sent to the finishing department.
NB: if you don't tick the box, your print will automatically go to the finishing and it will be too late to backtrack. In case of contestation, you will have to re-order all of your prints (prints and finishing re-charged)
NB: if you choose a postponed mounting ('overlap without mounting' option), the rate practiced for the finishing will be our normal rate, without any possible discount and based on the usual formats billing.
The preferential rate for the online mounting only applies if it is ordered online at the same time as the prints.
How to set up your 'mounting' :
(For an acrylic mounting or similar to 'Diasec TM ', read the comment at the bottom page*)
In order to mount a print with a precise final dimension, it is necessary to have a minimum 'image overlap' of 2mm around the image.
'Image overlap' means that the dimension of the print before the mounting must be a couple of millimeters larger than the wanted final format.
This image overlap enables to corrects the possible position defaults during the several steps of the mounting (necessary and accepted margin of error of 0.4% for the large formats, it rises to 2% for the small formats).
You dispose of 2 options for the automatic setting and the order of your mounting :
First you set up the dimensions of your prints to the final dimension that you want with the tools 'default format' or 'precise format'.
When you select a media for the mounting, your print/image format will be automatically re-sized to include the 2mm overlap around the image.
For instance: you want a 60 x 90cm print
The final format indicates 60 x 90cm
NB : for the associated finishes, the list of options changes according to the compatibilities.
If you choose an option, the incompatible options vanish from the list of options.
To take a backward step, deselect the option by ticking the box 'without', and you'll be able to choose a new option.
2 - Overlap without mounting : (option to choose in the select 'mounting')
You want your print with a definite mounting, but you're still hesitating on the final mounting media or you want to make the mounting yourself afterward.
This option deactivates the finishing ordered but it keeps the automatic resizing.
For instance: you want to obtain the 80x120cm final format after the mounting.
The final format indicates 80.4 x 20.4cm
In any case :
Preparation for the FRAMING :
The framing conceals 10mm around your image :
If you ask for a framing, you must expect the frame to trim 10mm on your image.
Prepare your image with a 10mm additional margin around the image to avoid that a signature or a logo be concealed by the border of frame.
Specific case of a mounting with a thin margin around the image near the print edge :
This case is very delicate to manage (for instance a 2mm black net around the image to be mounted).
We recommend you not to do it because if you don't anticipate it, the net will be cut on some edges.
We recommend you to use margins or nets with a minimum width of 1cm.
But it would be better to prepare your images including the overlaps for the mounting and the cut and to set the print format by using the precise format and by entering the mounting final format wanted.
For this, you must anticipate the technical overlaps produced by the application :
- 2mm mounting overlap around the image i.e. 4mm for each side
- 0.8mm cut overlap around the image i.e. 1.6mm in for each side
For instance: you want a '40 x 40' mounted for final format:
Prepare your file '40x40 'to the resolution of the printer / imager (dpi) in Photoshop.
Then expand the file in Photoshop 5.6 mm in each dimension format = '40, 56 x 40.56 '
After downloading the file, when setting the interface, ask a '40x40 'using the' precise format '.
NB : if the image is not square, consider the ratio of the image (5.6 becomes 8.4 in the large side for a ratio of 1.5 (35mm/24x36) ... or 16.8 for a ratio 3 etc.).
If you need assistance please contact supportdirect@picto.fr before you send your order.
Specific case for B&W baryta paper prints mounted on "aluminium" or on "dibond" :
We insist on warning you against the risks of mounting baryta paper on aluminium or dibond.
Depending on the humidity, the dimension of the B&W paper can vary from 2% larger to 2% smaller, this is not the case for the media on which you want us to mount it.
Therefore, depending on the displaying conditions, the speed, the amplitude and the frequency of the humidity variations, the baryta paper can crack or slightly come off.
When ordering this service, you therefore acknowledge this risk and we cannot be held responsible for any damage.
*For an acrylic mounting:
This kind of mounting is possible from our application.
You must select the service 'print with acrylic mounting' to directly reach the compatible media.
The interface permits to manage the necessary preparation for this specific finish.

For a mounting similar to 'Diasec TM ':
This kind of mounting isn't directly accessible from our interface :
You must contact our commercial department to order and pay this particular finish.
However it is necessary to properly prepare your print for this kind of finish.
To do this, you must anticipate the necessary technical margins and include them in your file.
The 2mm image overlap is still necessary, but above all you must add in your file a 3cm margin around the image to enable this particular finish to be successfully carried out.
Select the option 'overlap without mounting' in order to automatically add the image overlap if you didn't include it in your file.
If you have already integrated in your image the 2mm image overlap more than the technical margin, select nothing in finishing options.
